1. Certification Comparison
2. Action Plan (Post-Certification To-Do checklist)
- [ ] Write your experience on taking the Training and Certification in your Blog/Medium/Linkedin Post/etc.
- [ ] Conduct a sharing session to colleague/peers/public talks.
- [ ] Incorporate what you have learned into your workflow/daily tasks/projects/operation/Business As Usual.
- [ ] Update the existing documentations (SOPs/Playbooks/etc.) with what you have learned.
- [ ] Set a target/KPI matched with what you have learned (e.g. get to know on Security Metrics Reporting during training → Produce Quarterly based Security Metrics Report to Management)
- [ ] Side Projects: Work on personal projects to explore your interests and develop new skills.
- [ ] Company Internal Dev. Side Project: Develop a side project that addresses a specific pain point in your current workflow. This project should leverage your company's processes and technologies. This is similar to contributing to open source, but with a focus on solving internal pain points.
- [ ] Contribute to Open Source on GitHub: Get involved in open-source projects on GitHub related to cybersecurity. This can expose you to real-world challenges and give you ideas for tools or automation scripts that could be useful for the community. Examples include creating awesome lists, generators, or other helpful resources.
- [ ] Provide training (free or paid) or mentorship with what you have learned during training. (Best way to learn is to teach)
- [ ] Add all of the above tasks into your CV/Resume in case there’s a need for a job hunt 😆
- [ ] Use the completed checklist to justify for getting more certifications or trainings like Black Hat, Nanosec, and so on.
